The UK Electoral Roll is collected by local authorities and forms the register of voters for local, national and European elections.
Despite some concern about the use of name and address data being extracted from the Electoral Roll and used for marketing (eg mailing) purposes, it is possible to link voter registration details to address details using hybridised electoral roll / address management software.
Capscan's Matchcode Names software uses the latest electronically available Electoral Roll Register and manipulates a name just as if it were another address element.
Matchcode Names adds Electoral Roll name data to PAF® allowing the user to:
Validate files of names and addresses
Provide a source of data for mailshots
Produce up-to-date information on the members of the household who are registered at any particular address within the UK
Improve the quality of computer-readable records by producing names as well as addresses to increase the matching success rate of mass mailings.
Matchcode Names allows for nicknames, transposed names (eg "John Smith Mr." or "Mr. Smith John") and misspelt names with partial addresses.
In addition to its Electoral Roll capabilities, Matchcode Names offers all of the facilities found in Capscan's standard address management software.
